The Spring Chick Dress

When I find myself in a mood I reach for the sewing machine. And pinterest. This weekend my sewing therapy took a happy turn as I created a Spring dress for Charlotte. Elliott is visiting the grandparents this weekend so it’s been a fun-filled girly kind of weekend. Painting toe-nails, sewing dresses and making a special princess tent. I was inspired by a pin-tucked t-shirt dress over at Make it and Love it. Mine is a bit different, I only added a few pleats in the front and my tie is a bit more casual. I actually wanted to add pleats all the way around the skirt portion of the dress, but I was using leftover material from my stash. The piece of material I had to work with wasn’t quite long enough. Still very pleased with the result, can’t wait for the weather to warm up so that C can wear this outside.

Materials: Yellow pillowcase, leftover pink material, ill-fitting boxy shirt that C never wears
